Unplugged

Wow, over a month since my last post. I seriously needed to unplug for awhile. Well, with a little help from my new friend, itouch. I have found myself checking email and facebook, you know the crucials, with my new friend. I also joined a gym, yay! And have been working out a few times a week at night instead of sitting in front of the computer or watching tube. But I have felt the urge to get creative again with words, pics, and music. I actually started a scrap book for Elizabeth. A smart friend of mine, who has four children, gave me some advice. A page a year for each child. 10-15 favorite photos from the year. This weekend I did Elizabeth's first page. Sooooo many do-dads to pick from. I found myself lost in the craft store among papers, glitter, stamps, brads, trims, cut-outs, etc. It was fun, easy, addictive. I am secretly super psyched about Jude's. Technically has changed since Elizabeth was born. The pictures of Jude were taken with my fancy digital slr. I showed Elizabeth her first two pages this morning and she lit up! I only worry that the sticky with wear off all the do-dads. Oh and my new best friends, glue dots! Never knew they existed. I am going to officially call myself a scrapbooker now. Of course, my 20 yr old babysitter took a scrapbooking course in high school. I am so old.
Work is work, pluggin' along. Finally, feeling like my head is above water. It feels great to almost have this first year of teaching at a new school under the belt.
Elizabeth and I are going to church. We are loving it. So happy to be able to give her a spiritual background. We send our kids to school for everything else, why not religion? At least she will be armed with knowledge to make a choice for herself.
And.....we bumped into her birth father at CVS. Totally unexpected after four years of no contact. I thank God for giving me the strength and that's about all I can say about that one.
The picture above is me giving in to picnik and having a little fun! Sigh....its nice to be back! xoxo

  1. I just come back for your taste in music, which is similar to mine, because I always like everything on your list, but some artists new to me, especially hit me in your earliest entries, what good musical taste. That's all, just peeking for the music and what I would buy if I could replace my broken CD player. My ears like the same things yours do. I hope that doesn't make you feel old. Good taste is ageless.
